Using a shampoo bar is as easy as bathing with a soap bar. Simply wet your hair and the shampoo bar, then slide the bar over your hair as if you were trying to comb your hair, makkng sure to get it all the way downthe whole length of your hair. Sometimes lifting longer hair up onto your head helps.
Now, put the bar down and lather the traced soap into your hair as you would a liquid shampoo. Rinse and reapeat as necessary.
Shampoo bars are conditioning shampoos, however if you would like to give your hair some extra conditioning, a natural alternative would be to rinse your hair with a 10:1 water and vinegar solution. Vinegar smell does not remain on dry hair! It simply rinses and leaves a soft managable shine.
Occasionally, someone will tell me they can't use these bars because it makes their hair feel all sticky as they are shampooing, This is due to the large number of oils or products built up on the hair shafts. Should this occur, rinse the shampoo from your hair and repeat a second application with the shampoo bar. This should remove any build up of products or oils you have accumulated. You may use conditioner as desired after your shampoo with no risk of further buildup.
Weekly, daily, once a month... it's really up to you. Personally, Momma T uses her Herbal shampoo bar every day. But, others use it only once a week as a clarifying shampoo, and still others only use it occasionally. (and they always are surprised at how much of an awesome differance it makes) The point is, its natural, how often do you want to use a natural product to clean your hair?
